For a long time, lavandula or English Lavender has been part of my night time ritual. It’s soothing scent helps lull one fall asleep at night. This is my collection of lavender scented items along with a small pouch of lavender which is used to infuse my clothes with a lavender scent.
The most common form is English Lavender which flourishes in dry, well-drained, sandy or gravelly soils in full sun. It is grown commercially for it’s essential oil because it has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties and often used as bath products.
A study in 2010 investigated the effects of lavender on sleep disturbances and found it relieved anxiety and sleep disturbances.
Here is a photo of my lavender cache, which seems to be growing in diversity over the years. What started out as a bottle of lavender lotion, has now morphed into oils, soap, lavender butter! and a lavender sachet. One can’t have enough lavender, one of my favourite scents!

What about innocent bystanders?
